18 month update

Caleb had his big 18 month checkup just over 2 weeks ago and everything went great, except for the fact that we were in the early stages of a viral "funk" as we call it, because we don't really know what he had. We went about 6 nights straight with a 101 - 102 degree fever. He had an inflamed throat, but tested negative for step and the flu. It then turned into a horrible cold... poor thing... when all my son wants to do is sit on your lap and stare at the TV, you know something is wrong!!!

But back to the checkup, since he was running a fever, he didn't get his vaccinations, so now we have to go back and get those. As far as his growth goes... 27 1/2 lbs!!! He's 50% for weight, and 75 - 90% for height... YEAH! This appt is also the big "autism screening" checkup that our pediatrician does, which is really nothing more than a detailed evaluation of his development, and YEAH, Caleb passed with flying colors! Even though our Doctor has said all along he didn't have concerns about Caleb, I think as a mom it's still always in the back of your mind, so that was a relief!

As for day to day life... Caleb is a busy busy busy, and stubborn little boy (I think he gets the later from me!) He talks non-stop, and cracks us up consistently... the best is his version of "helicopter" as he points to the sky... it's hilarious! He's more obsessed than ever with balls and all kinds of little hotwheels cars. I think it really helps show his imagination too, because he'll wheel cars & tractors around all day making engine noises while driving all over the furniture, rather than play with some noisy toy that lights up & all that jazz. He has a basketball goal in the basement that he is contantly saying "shot it" as he dunks the ball and then "get it" as it rolls away. (we do this for about an hour before bed each night to wear is little bottom out!) He also loves his soccer ball, and I have a feeling the Easter bunny will be bringing him a soccer goal for the backyard! ;)

We're so looking forward to "springing forward" this weekend so we have more daylight... outside is where we will be spending most of our day if Caleb has anything to say about it!
